Take Google.
You enter in search terms via keyboard: "funny lizard", "old dusty bag", "giant granite boulder"
And Google Image Search uses these 'tags' to search through a database of simple bits of information based on those terms you entered.
Now think of a human's brain a database.
Your 5 senses, your sight, hearing, sense of smell, sense of touch, and sense of taste are the"search bars" in which you enter your terms.
Imagine you're standing in a space, holding an object. To determine what that object is, you use your senses as following
touch: you're holding something fluffy and soft
sight: you're holding a black animal-looking thing with white stripes
smell: it smells horrible
taste: your mouth is closed, you taste nothing.
sound: you hear nothing
Though 2 of your senses didn't assist in aiding your understanding of what you're holding, the 3 others led you to determine that you're holding a skunk.
Now,
imagine you're chewing something:
touch: you feel textured, brittled surface that crumbles as you chew
sight: you see nothing special
smell: it smells slightly like salt and vegetable oil
taste: you taste a salty, chip-like flavor
sound: you hear a CRUNCH sound as you chew
In this scenario, even though you're missing the 1 sight sense, you still determine that you are eating a potato chip.
So this is the concept of entering 'search terms' into your mind using your 5 senses as a "searchbar".
Now to move on, I'm going to elaborate on the brain being a database. Unlike a computer, the bits of information that's stored in the brain are continually shifting and changing place. Our brain is an incredibly complex organic organ, and it behaves dynamically. It uses a variety of methods to both synthesize new bits of data, and re-arrange the data that it already has stored.

Every thing on this earth is created through a positive and a negative enforcement. Without the opposite entity, things would continuously propel in one direction forever. Newton states it himself, for every action, there is an equal an opposite reaction.
Everything in nature is the way it is, because it is in a state of balance. Everything is shaped through a process that's affected via a large number of outside influences, and what it is today is a result of that.
This isn't to say that anything is static. Everything is in a constant state of change, whether it is a slight change or a large change. Even things that seem static and old, often aren't. Many things in nature have learned to regenerate themselves. Skin, for example, is not a static thing. It continuously sheds and regenerates new cells, it does this for a reason. The cell serves a purpose, and if it did not regenerate, it would not behave in the same way.
Also, to understand a bigger picture, we have to talk about the concept of scale. Everything we've ever measured or conceptualized in the universe has been thought of in relative terms. Everything is in a constant state of change, like I said, but the rate at which change occurs differs. Continents drift across our planet and collide with each other, forming mountains. However humans think of this process as "slow" since it takes much longer than their own lifetime. We must realize though, that "slow" is simply a comparison we make, and that it's speed is actually arbitrary. In comparison to other phenomena in the universe, it could be seen as slow.
